Josh Willingham – Nationals

You have to admit that the Nationals are far from a good team, which is surprising when you look at the talent they have. Take Josh Willingham for example. While I’m sure he wishes he was back in a Marlins uniform, last night he led the Nats assault on the fast falling Cubs in Chicago. Josh belted two HRs with a standout 4 for 4 night. He knocked in 6 RBIs and scored 5 times as the Nats pounded Zambrano 15-6. Watch his big night at the plate including a HR out of Wrigley Field –  Click Here!

When Josh Willingham was traded to the Nationals, you wondered where he fit into their plans going into Spring Training. They had a over abundance of outfielders and only three spots.
But in time some were traded away, some got injured, some showed they are not the “real deal”. But Willingham took the high road and waited for his chance.
And now he has been rewarded both at the plate and with starts for the nationals down the stretch. And you can tell by his stats that he is trying to make the best of it and post some great numbers so he can either stay here, or find a suitable alternative team for 2010.
The guy is a gamer, and he porved it that night by smacking the cover off the ball against the Cubs.

I think you are spot on my friend. Baseball is a funny game in that the gamers always seem to rise to the top, regardless of what those “minds” on the sidelines and cozy boxes think. Willingham is definitely a gamer. – Buz Brundage “Yesterday’s Hitter”
